Data Deletion Policy

Under GDPR, CCPA, and New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. Trek360AI respects and upholds this right.

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

When you request account deletion, the following personal data is permanently removed:

• Profile Information — Name, email, avatar, bio, social links, and cover photos
• Location Data — All GPS tracks, saved routes, and trip history
• Gallery & Media — All uploaded photos, albums, and media files
• Private Content — Journal entries, private posts, and messages
• Gear & Packing — Gear inventory items, packing lists, and maintenance records
• Trips & Routes — Trip plans, itineraries, offline route downloads, and waypoints
• Fishing Logs — Catch data and fishing records
• Preferences — Settings, saved locations, favorites
• Payment Data — Billing history (Stripe records handled per Stripe policies). Note: KYC identity documents may be retained for the legally mandated period (typically 5–7 years after account closure) even after account deletion, per our KYC & Compliance Policy
• Emergency Contacts — All stored emergency information
• Device Data — Connected devices and fitness tracking data

Certain information may be retained in limited circumstances:

• Anonymized Analytics — Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics for service improvement
• Community Content — Public posts may be anonymized (author shown as "Deleted User") to preserve conversation context
• Legal Obligations — Data required for tax, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, retained only for the legally mandated period
• Backup Cycles — Data in backup systems is purged within 90 days

Option 1 — In-App (Recommended)

Navigate to Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete Account

Follow confirmation steps

Deletion is processed within 24 hours

Option 2 — Email Request

Send an email to privacy@trek360ai.com with:

• Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
• Your registered email address
• Confirmation that you understand deletion is permanent

Trek360AI will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days (often faster).

Please export any data you wish to keep before submitting a deletion request.

• Immediate — Account is deactivated; login disabled
• Within 24 hours — Active personal data purged from production systems
• Within 30 days — All personal data removed from primary databases
• Within 90 days — Data purged from backup systems
